Our faculty’s research in this area focuses on the development of image-guided surgical procedures, including robotic surgery; the development of new imaging methods and image processing tools for Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), nuclear imaging, optical coherence tomography and atomic force microscopy and other applications; medical applications of lasers and other forms of energy for treatment, diagnosis, and stimulation; the characterization of physiological function in the ear, eye, brain and other organs. Research is conducted in close collaboration with Neurology, Neurosurgery, Ophthalmology, Otolaryngology, Radiology, Radiation and Interventional Oncology, and Urology.
